X, formerly called Twitter, has been in the news for exploring newer avenues of revenue in recent times apart from microblogging. Soon after exploring videos, the company is now entering the sports gambling space with its partnership with BetMGM, a sports betting operator. The operator announced the strategic coalition with X to become the platform’s exclusive Live Odds Sports Betting partner. The company shall display betting odds in the United States to users.
According to the agreement, the Elon Musk platform will integrate BetMGM’s odds information and branding, linking each of the games to the website and app to let users place wagers.
“Sports never sleep on X and now with our strategic partnership with BetMGM, fans are practically in the front row. We’re bringing sports fans on X even closer to the action so they can cheer, and now bet, on their favourite teams,” Yaccarino said. US users will be able to check for the betting platform’s most recent betting odds on NFL football, with other significant professional and college sports likely to follow soon.
“Being directly accessible within that forum is an unprecedented opportunity to expand our reach to a passionate and engaged audience. We look forward to adding intel and content that enhances the platform’s interaction around sports,” said Adam Greenblatt, CEO of BetMGM. The app reached the top spot on the Apple App Store. The sharp uptick can be attributed to Tucker Carlson’s announcement of an interview with Putin and Drake’s explicit photos.
The recent tweaks on X are among the company’s attempts to transform X into an “everything app”. The new avenues include videos, live streaming, shopping, payments and more.
